It looks like Google’s next smartwatch, the Google Pixel Watch 4, won’t be much of a mystery by the time it’s officially announced. Multiple leaks including renders, specs, and even charging details have revealed nearly everything we might expect when it hits the stage later this month.
A Familiar Look With Finer Details
From the outside, the Pixel Watch 4 sticks with the rounded, domed-glass design of its predecessors, but bezels appear slimmer and the overall shape a little more refined. There’s also a noticeable bump in case thickness about 2 mm likely to house a bigger battery.
It’s coming in two sizes again: 41 mm and 45 mm, each with its own set of colors. Smaller models will be offered in Iris, Lemongrass, Porcelain, and Obsidian, while the larger version swaps Lemongrass for Moonstone. Expect matching bands in the same hues, along with classic silver, gold, and black tones.
Brighter Screen, Bigger Battery
The AMOLED display is said to reach up to 3,000 nits of peak brightness a solid leap from the Pixel Watch 3’s ~2,000 nits. Underneath, the battery gets a boost: about 327 mAh for the 41 mm model and 459 mAh for the 45 mm. That should mean roughly 30 to 40 hours of use with the always-on display, or up to two to three days in battery saver mode.
Faster, Smarter Charging
A redesigned side-mounted charger with pogo pins replaces the old wireless puck. Besides making it easier to dock (and letting the watch sit like a mini desk clock), charging is reportedly 25% faster than half a battery in around 15 minutes, and 80% in about half an hour.
Familiar Chip, New AI Tricks
The main engine is still Qualcomm’s Snapdragon W5 Gen 1, but Google has added a Cortex-M55 co-processor and possibly a small NPU for handling on-device AI. That’s good news for the new Gemini-powered Google Assistant, which should feel quicker and more natural. You’ll even be able to trigger it just by raising your wrist.
Health and Safety Boosts
Fitness tracking covers the usual suspects heart-rate, SpO₂, ECG, GPS, and more than 40 workout modes but Google is also leaning on safety. Features like loss-of-pulse alerts, breathing emergency detection, and even satellite-based SOS messaging are expected.
Launch, Price, and Perks
The Pixel Watch 4 is tipped to debut on August 20, 2025, alongside other Google hardware. Wi-Fi models should start around $349 (41 mm) and $399 (45 mm), with LTE versions costing about $50 more. Early buyers may also get six months of Fitbit Premium and a month of YouTube Premium bundled in.
Bottom line: The Pixel Watch 4 isn’t reinventing the wheel but with a brighter screen, faster charging, better safety features, and deeper AI smarts, it’s shaping up to be Google’s most polished smartwatch yet.
